AGU Student Travel Grant
Helping Students Attend the AGU Annual Meeting
AGU Student Travel Grants provide funds to assist students with a combination of costs associated with attending the AGU Annual Meeting. AGU Student Travel Grants assist students in paying costs associated with attending the event, both in-person and virtually. Please consider donating now to help applicants, especially those from demographic backgrounds underrepresented in Earth and space science, attend this year’s meeting.
The AGU24 Travel Grant will be open for applications 10 July - 12 August.

Recipients receive the following:
- $1,000 USD (in-person attendees)
- $1,000 (virtual attendees)
Criteria for a Successful Application
Applications are evaluated on the following:
PRIMARY EVALUATION
Applicants are initially reviewed based on the following criteria:
- Demographic backgrounds underrepresented in Earth and space science
- Demonstrated financial need
- Applicants who have never studied outside of their home country
- Applicants in the final year of their degree program
SECONDARY EVALUATION
Applicants who move through the first round of selection are then reviewed on the following criteria:
- Strength of scientific merit demonstrated in submitted abstract (reviewers will be volunteer members from your section)
- How receiving a travel grant would reduce barriers to participation in AGU's Annual Meeting
- The unique perspective the applicant bring to the broader AGU community
- Applicant's plan to engage with the AGU community and fellow AGU student members
- How participating in the AGU Annual Meeting will benefit applicant's personal and professional goals
- Applicant's resume/CV
